Achieve Student and Classroom Success with RIMS School-based Services
RIMS offers professional, high-quality care on-site at local Prince George’s County schools.
At RIMS, the staff believes that a child’s mental health is vital to their learning and development. Good mental health affects the student’s success and well-being, and also affects the school’s overall climate. Every student’s experience is affected by the other students. Our goal is to create a healthy school environment in which all students thrive in a nurturing setting.
As your partner, RIMS’ child and adolescent clinical professionals can help address the student’s needs — personal relationships, social-emotional skills, anger management, anxiety/fears, academic motivation, ADHD, depression and mood disorders.
RIMS’ school-based mental health services include:
- Crisis prevention
- Referral to specialists
RIMS’ on-site clinical staff are careful to provide help without disrupting the student’s schedule. The staff also schedules meetings at the family’s convenience.
Preventing serious crises
With RIMS’ on-site presence, there is collaboration among parents, teachers and staff to proactively address classroom behavior and discipline. This approach promotes the student’s academic success, and supports their social and emotional needs.
If a student is struggling with serious mental health problems, this on-site approach allows staff to identify the problems and respond quickly. This is critical in preventing a crisis from occurring.
RIMS staff also help coordinate benefit eligibility, transition from school to work, housing, and programs to build social skills – all to help nurture the child’s growth, learning and safety.
